Can I publish my presentation on the World Wide Web?

PowerPoint has the ability to save a presentation in HTML format for publication on the Web. You can publish your entire presentation, or just a few slides.

PowerPoint presentations in HTML format automatically include next and previous buttons, as well as an outline pane to enable moving through the slides in a non-linear fashion.

How do I save
a presentation
for the Web?

Follow these steps to save your presentation in HTML format for publishing on the Web:

1) To preview your presentation in your Web browser before you save it for the Web, pull down the File menu and choose Web Page Preview. This will launch your browser and display your presentation in it.

2) If you are satisfied with the preview, return to PowerPoint, pull down the File menu, and click Save as Web Page. You will see the following dialog box:

3) In the File name box, type a name for the Web page.

4) In the folder list, select a location for the Web page. If you are connected to your web server, you can save the presentation directly to it. If you aren’t connected to the web server, you can save the presentation anywhere you like, and transfer it to the server later.

5) To change the title of your presentation in the Web browser, click the Change Title button, type the new title in the Page title box, and then click OK.

6) Click the Publish button. The following dialog box will appear:

7) Select the options you want. For example, you can indicate that you want to publish the entire presentation, or you can specify selected slides.

8) For more advanced options, click Web Options. For information about any of the options in the four tabs, right click on it, then click on the What’s This? pop-up command that appears. Select the options you want from the different tabs, and then click OK.

9) Click the Publish button.

Your HTML presentation and supporting files are now saved where you indicated. You can view the presentation page in your web browser.
