Admission Requirements

  • An individual with a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college, who earned an undergraduate grade point average of at least 2.8 on a 4.0 scale, may apply for admission to the MSIT program.
  • Persons who do not intend to earn a masters degree may be admitted as non-degree students provided they provide proof of graduation from an accredited undergraduate college or university.
  • No more than 12 semester hours earned as a non-degree student may be later applied toward a master's degree except by special permission.
  • Persons who hold a bachelor's degree in any discipline from an accredited college or university may become degree candidates and proceed to the master's degree by completing a minimum of 33 semester hours of coursework including either an internship or master's thesis.

Admission requirements for the MSIT Program

  • A completed application form for graduate studies at Bloomsburg University
  • The application fee paid in full
  • Official transcript from all undergraduate institutions
  • A personal interview with one or more of the MSIT faculty
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • A one-to-two-page paper describing the applicant's interest in instructional technology
  • A minimal TOEFL score of 570 for international students
