Editing in Sound Forge

Applying Your Skills

For this practice exercise you will:

  • open an existing file
  • copy sections into a new file
  • add regions and markers

1. Open the wav file titled "Lessons 6 thru 9" located on the "H" drive in the student shares folder titled "Sound Forge Practice".

2. Cut a portion of the sound file and paste it into a new sound file. Name this file "cut_sound"

Please do steps 2-4 in the new sound file ("cut_sound") you created.

3. Copy a portion of the sound file and paste it somewhere else in the file

4. Create a region named "Region1"

5. Create two markers one named "Marker 1" and one named "Marker 2"

***After creating the region and markers practice editing and updating them***

6. Submit your practice files.

Make a new folder and place the practice assignment and your new sound file you created ("cut_sound") inside the new folder with the name of the folder being your last name.

Place the new folder you just created with the two sound files in it into the folder titled "Finished Sound Forge Practice" (which is found on the student shares in the multimedia productions).
