Time to practice the skills presented in the Basics section.

For this practice exercise you will:

  • Record your voice with sound effects. (* see note below!!!)
  • Extract a music track from a royalty free CD.
  • Save each file as a .wav file format.
    (Name each file with your last name and the word voice for the voice file, and music for the music file. example: DavisVoice, DavisMusic )
  • Submit these files for evaluation in the Multimedia folder on the Student Shares drive.

* Now, let's have a little fun with this practice exercise. Below you will find over 20 one line jokes. Select 10 of the jokes, and create a recording of you telling the jokes with appropriate sound effects added.

  • What do you call the man who fires all the rockets?
    Sir Launchalot
  • Why did the burglar take a bath?
    Because he wanted to make a clean getaway.
  • What do you call a smart duck?
    A wise quacker.
  • What do they call small black cats in Florida?
    Kittens
  • What do you call a frightened scuba diver?
    Chicken of the sea
  • What's the hardest thing about riding a bicycle?
    The asphalt.
  • Ten cats sat on a fence. One jumped off. How many were left?
    None. The others were copycats.
  • What was the highest mountain before Mt. Everest was discovered?
    Mt. Everest.
  • What does it mean when you find a horseshoe?
    A horse is going barefoot.
  • What are two things you cannot eat for breakfast?
    Lunch and dinner.
  • On what side of a school does an elm tree grow?
    On the outside.
  • What is it that you throw away the outside, cook the inside, then eat the outside, ad throw away the inside?
    An ear of corn.
  • What animal needs oiling?
    A mouse, because it squeaks.
  • Why did the soldier salute the refrigerator?
    Because it was General Electric.
  • Why did the pig dress like a clown?
    Because the farmer said he would make a good ham.
  • Why did the turtle cross the street?
    Because she wanted to get to the Shell station.
  • Why did the little boy spray his clock?
    Because it was full of ticks.
  • Why don't we pay our taxes with a smile?
    Because we have to pay them with money.
  • Why didn't George Washington lie?
    Because he stood up most of the time.
  • Why did the woman stand next to the vault in the bank?
    Because she wanted to be on the safe side.
  • Why did the fly fly?
    Because the spider spied her.
  • Why is a robber the strongest man in the world?
    Because he holds up a bank.
