Vita Introduction

I am currently a Project Manager/Lead Instructional Designer for the Institute for Interactive Technologies at Bloomsburg University. I have been assigned to conducting a needs assessment for the Department of Public Welfare (DPW), Office of Income Maintenance Staff Development. We're conducting five meetings with various levels of Public Welfare employees to evaluate their IMSTP for their new caseworkers. I worked with Staff Development in the past managing a $1 million grant for the design and development of web-based training. I managed instructional designers and graduate assistants working on the project. I directly communicated and conducted meetings on a regular basis with Supervisors and DPW. I consulted with DPW to determine their needs and make sure deadlines were clarified and met. I have developed strong communication and organizational skills through leadership positions.

Because of our work with DPW, we received a contract with New Jersey Division of Family Development (DFD) designing and developing 18 web-based training modules for their Food Stamp policy in 7 months. The project is being implemented with a database to track the users.

As an Instructional Designer for West Branch Technology Center, I introduced the instructional design process for online learning to the organization. I selected Macromedia's Authorware to develop CD-ROM and Web-based training for adult education and local businesses. I also assisted in writing a proposal for a 3-year grant for NIFL to develop Web-based training and conduct on-line meetings. I conducted technology training for the community, businesses, and public school teachers for CEU credits.

As a student at Bloomsburg University, I learned Instructional Design concepts and applied them to Multimedia Development. I taught a four-week online course incorporating Blackboard and Centra99. I have presented various instructional design and multimedia topics using Microsoft PowerPoint. I was a project manager for a CD-ROM training development program for Geisinger Health System.
